Agility Dog Training
Dog Agility Training
Dog agility is one of the most exciting and rewarding activities you can do with your dog. Our agility classes are designed to be fun, engaging, and confidence-building for both dogs and their owners. At this time, our focus is not on creating agility champions, although that can certainly happen for those who decide to pursue the sport further. Our primary goal is to provide a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience where dogs and handlers can learn and grow together.
Safety is always our number one priority as we introduce dogs and owners to the fundamentals of agility. Every team starts at the beginning by learning proper handling skills, communication, body positioning, and basic obstacle introduction before progressing to more advanced equipment and course work.
Agility is not something mastered in just a few classes. Dogs that compete at advanced levels have often spent years practicing and refining their skills. Our classes are designed to build confidence, teamwork, focus, coordination, and trust while allowing dogs to burn energy in a productive and mentally stimulating way.
Puppies and adult dogs alike can participate, and no prior agility experience is necessary.
Purrfect Pooches features regulation-size agility equipment, and we are continually expanding and improving our course offerings. Current equipment includes:
Pause Table
Full Size Dog Walk
Teeter / Seesaw
A-Frame
Tire Jump
Two 18-Foot Tunnels
Closed Chute
Weave Poles
Miscellaneous jumps and beginner agility elements
One of the best things about agility is that practice can continue at home using creativity and everyday household items. A couple of laundry baskets, cones, buckets, or a broomstick can become beginner jumps or obstacles. Once you start learning agility, you begin seeing potential training opportunities everywhere.
Whether your goal is simply to have fun, strengthen your bond with your dog, improve confidence, or eventually explore competition, agility is an incredible activity that challenges both the mind and body while creating lasting memories together.
